Erik Ekstein - President and CEO
Mr. Erik Ekstein is a developer, owner and manager of real estate as well as an entrepreneur. He has significant interests in over 3 million square feet of residential, industrial, office and storage facilities in the tri-state area.
In addition to his responsibilities with Ekstein Development, Mr. Ekstein’s other real estate related businesses include Mini Storage To Go (Pick-up and Delivery Self Storage), City Closet Self Storage (Self Storage Management Company), CCCS Corporate Storage (Records Management and Corporate Asset Management Company) TyJor Construction LLC (Commercial Construction Company), City Ice Pavilion and World Ice Arena (two NHL Ice skating facilities in Queens New York) and Empire Rehearsal Studios (music rehearsal studios). Mr. Ekstein serves in the capacity of President for all these companies.
Mr. Ekstein’s also has significant interests in non-real estate related businesses. These include Brix Wine Vault LLC (Wine Storage, Distribution and Logistics Company) and Noble House Wines (Importer and Wholesaler of Fine wines in New York State).
Mr. Ekstein graduated from Wheaton College with a degree in International Relation and Economics. After graduation Mr. Ekstein was an Investment Banker with Gerard Klauer Mattison & Co. from 1992 thru 1995. In 1995 Mr. Ekstein started Sandbox Entertainment to produce children’s entertainment for nationwide television syndication and product licensing. In 1999 Mr. Ekstein started Ekstein Development.
Joel Arberman - EVP - Business Development and Marketing
Joel Arberman serves as Executive Vice-President of Business Development and Marketing. Prior to joining Ekstein Development, Joel was an analyst for two money management firms, partner of an investment banking firm and subsequently founded several businesses in finance, advertising and real estate. Joel has extensive experience in business development, marketing, finance and real estate. Joel graduated from the State University of New York at Albany with a B.S. in Business Administration and concentrations in finance and marketing.
Eric Moran Esq. - EVP - Development
Eric Moran serves as Executive Vice-President and General Counsel. His responsibilities include managing all aspects of development projects and performing legal work relating to the financing, construction and sales of both commercial and residential developments, including oversight of outside counsel. Prior to joining Ekstein Development, Eric worked at Kramer, Levin, Naftalis & Frankel LLP as an associate in the firm’s Real Estate department. Eric holds a B.S. from Georgetown University and a J.D. from New York University School of Law. Eric is a member of the New York State Bar Association.Anthony Yandoli - Chief Financial Officer
Thelma Alano - VP - Controller
Thelma Alano serves as Controller with responsibilities including accounting, bookkeeping, benefits administration, sales tax management and collections. Prior to joining Ekstein Development, Thelma worked for Trust Company Bank. She has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of the East in Manila, Philippines.
Ron Kraut - VP - Sports Business Development
Ron Kraut serves as Vice President of Sports Business Development. Prior to joining Ekstein Development, Ron spent more than twenty years in national and regional advertising with Backer Spielvogel and Bates where he worked with major corporations including The Miller Brewing Company, Campell's Soup, Nabisco Foods, Philip Morris, Wendy's Restaurants and others.
In addition, Ron was the first member hired to the Development Team for the Chelsea Piers Sports and Entertainment Complex that created a Golf Club, Sports Center, Field House, Sky Rink Twin Ice Rinks and The Roller Rinks at Chelsea Piers. He also worked with Cappelli Enterprises to reposition and relaunch New Roc City, a New Rochelle Development that included Twin Ice Rinks, Catering Facility, Sports Bar and Bowling Alley. Soon after the successful sale of New Roc, Ron joined Ice Rink Events and developed the very successful “The Pond at Bryant Park” now in it’s fifth year.
Ron joined Ekstein-Development in 2007 as Project Manager for the development of The City Ice Pavilion in Long Island City and currently manages the World Ice Arena in Flushing Meadows.
